Molly
Molly

Hi, Jacob and I just wanted to give you an update on Miss Molly. She definitely is not the same dog we picked up :) No more shyness from her. We signed her up for the Broad Ripple and Humane Society Bark Park. She LOVES it!! At first she was very timid, staying close to us. Now she thinks she's queen bee and just runs and runs. She likes being chased by the other dogs or joining in on any run. But if the dog's too big and she's had enough, she comes and hides under the bench we sit on. The dog park is definitely an experience. As far as training, we're thinking about obedience classes. She's just become really wild on the leash, wanting to run after any squirrel or bird in sight. I"m sure part of it has to do w/being cooped up during the day. Molly has actually started barking sometimes when we leave, like "Hey guys, don't leave me!". She's still very sweet, likes to lay on the couch w/us and will nudge her way up to sit by both of us. I call her Miss Nose because she's always following me putting her nose in everything I'm doing. We hope you enjoy this picture too! Megan and Jacob

Dewey
Dewey

Hi Jackie, Just wanted to update you on how Dewey is doing. He's adjusted well to life in our house. Everyone who meets him wants to take him home! All of us are absolutely in love with him, he is the perfect pet, he gets so many hugs and kisses and belly rubs he's just in heaven! We can't thank you enough for your love and devotion to these animals in need. I have already recommended CARE to a few people, they're so suprised at how they make the process very easy and efficient, and that they are so reasonably priced. I'll send you some pictures as soon as I upload them. Thanks again, Nancy

Larry
Larry

Hello. We are the couple that adopted Larry the yorkie/jack russell mix puppy. I have been meaning to e mail you and say thank you so much for all the help that you gave Nick and me. I can't tell you how long we looked for a puppy to add to our home, and how delighted we were to find him. I think you all are doing wonderful work there, and you truly have the pets best interest at heart. The world needs more people like you! I also wanted to thank your sister( I think you said she fostered him?). I think she did a wonderful job with the puppies. My mother a year ago bought two shih-tzu's from a breeder. When we got them home it was very obvious that they hadn't been given much attention at all. They were very developmentally behind. It was very sad actually. Larry however, was wonderful. I don't know if she tried to potty train them at all, but when we brought him home he already was going outside. He still is having a few mistakes, but doing really well. He also seemed to have been given treats, because he was very excited when we gave him one, and could hold a dog bone between his front paws to chew on it. Something it took my mothers dogs a while to pick up. He is very affectionate, and seemed to be given love and comfort. I mean he may just be a very smart dog, but I think it was her. I think she did a wonderful job caring for them! I cannot thank you enough for everything. We love Larry so much. I call home from work and ask how he is doing even! He has a good sized fenced yard to play in, and the day we brought him home, our neighbor, was given a dog, her name is Bella and Larry thinks that she is his girlfriend, even though she weighs about 40 lbs and he only 6! I wanted to send some pictures of him. I hope you get them and enjoy! Inge, Nick and Larry Sexton

Domino
Domino

Greetings! Just wanted to let you know that Domino continues to be awesome! He has worked his way nicely into our family. Except for getting sprayed by a skunk 2 nights after he came home with us...we were on a late night walk and he flushed a skunk out of a bush and the skunk was not too pleased needless to say! A week later and he still has a faint scent of eau de skunk-even after several baths and a trip to the groomer! His personality is great...he adores the kids, and is so easy going. They can take bones from him, cuddle with him, play with him, and he justs loves it. He as a new doggie friend...a 6 month old 60# labradoodle named Guiness who belongs to some good friends of ours. The first encounter Domino growled ferociously for about 2 minutes, then they proceeded to play like crazy for the next 30 minutes. Last night they skipped the growling and got right down to playing! He still barks a lot at passing people and animals, but it seems to be settling down some. He is responding to the training we are doing at home...heel, down and stay. If he is not going out with us, we make him sit and stay about 10 feet away from the door before we leave, and he is really getting it. He hardly ever tries to rush the door to escape any more. He also has to sit for his leash to be put on and taken off, and he already does that with out being prompted any more. He has come to work with me 2x now, and just slept on his bed most of the day. On the days he has to stay home he has had perfect manners...no accidents no destruction. He gets a lot of exercise, so I am sure that really helps. We have a rather long hallway and the kids toss his toys back and forth if the weather is bad outside. He loves toys by the way! He has a stuffed fish with squeaker in it and has figured out how to squeeze it and make a lot of noise...we have to take it away as it can drive me nuts! He sleeps in bed everynight, usually right in the middle until we relocate him to the end so we have some room! He has met the dogs at the kids' dads' house and got along fine...played a lot with the 90# boxer, who acted like a big puppy around Domino. We cannot thank you enough for trusting us to take Domino home with us...he is a very special little doggie! And we already cannot remember life without him! Take care and feel free to check in whenever you think about him! Beky Tess Myles and Mike
