Tiny Tim
Tiny Tim

4/15/09 He's doing great! He seems to really be enjoying himself here. He loves attempting to play with our other cat Cleo, but she still hasn’t completely warmed up to him yet. She is getting better though. The other day we let our rabbit out to see how he would react to her and at first he was scared and hissed and tried to hit her, but now they play together. He'll sneak up on her and then run full out at her and then screech to a stop right in front of her. It’s pretty funny. He also really likes running through the living room (where we first met him) and then sliding on the rug that’s in front of the sliding doors to the deck. He then starts attacking the rug and only stops when he is sure he's killed it haha. Yesterday we bought him two new toys to play with. He's definitely a spoiled little guy now! We have to leave all the doors to the rooms open at night now so he can jump from bed to bed to find the best sleeping spot for that particular night. He has a favorite chair, it’s the one I used to sit in, and he’s always in it now so now I get to sit on the floor haha. Hmm what else? He has this new thing of always trying to eat Cleo's cat food. Every time he hears us pour food into her bowl he comes running over to try and eat some, even though his bowl is full. So we now have to hide her food bowl up high on a bookshelf so he can’t reach it. The bookshelf seems to be working though; he can’t seem to sniff it out now. Oh, he also loves attacking feet. At night I'll sit in one of the chairs and put my feet up on the foot rest and about 3 seconds later he'll either be jumping on my feet attcking them or be under the foot rest attacking my legs from underneath! Now I have little claw marks all over my feet and legs. He's definitely living the life here, playing and sleeping all day long! 3/31/09 Tiny Tim sounds like a wonderful little kitty! My family and I miss having a lap cat around. We adopted our current cat about four years ago, but she is definitely not a lap cat! We think our cat is getting lonely so it was great to find out that Tiny Tim gets along with other cats! We also have a rabbit who loves to play with the cat, but the cat doesn’t love to play with her! It’s one of the funniest things to watch when we let the rabbit out to play around the house because she immediately hops to find the cat and then proceeds to hop in circles around her. 3/29/07 I am "Timmy's" foster mom and the person who found him injured in the field. He is a lap kitty. He is good with dogs and other cats. He is a bit of a "dog-like" kitty as he will follow me around the house, when i sit down he wants to sit on my lap. He cannot jump very high so your tables are safe! He cannot be declawed as he uses his front claws to help him climb (such as on the couch). Since his tail and one back leg are gone I don't think he has the balance to jump up but can jump down off of the couch or sometimes the bed. He should stay inside or maybe go outside on a halter with someone with him.

Telula
Telula

I just wanted to give you an update on Telulah. She and Lucy took about two minutes to sniff and say hello and have been playing and napping together from then on. They are getting along wonderfully and are having such a ball running around in the yard and playing "keep away." Telulah quickly found the toy basket and has been making herself at home. The cats have responded differently than I expected - the older one is simply staying out of the way, sleeping in her usual spot on my desk and observing from a safe lookout, but has not growled or hissed at Telulah at all like I thought she might. The younger cat, that I thought would play with her, on the other hand, completely freaked out - initially. I've never seen her hiss and growl like that and she basically disappeared to the basement for about 24 hours, but she is already "warming up." She came upstairs last night and sniffed at Telulah while she was oblivious, sleeping in her crate, so I'm guessing they'll be fine in a few more days. Telulah basically ignores the cats, she hasn't jumped up at the desk to bother them or anything and generally shows very little interest. I think they'll all be fine in no time. The only barking we've had has been very brief, on some occasions when going back in her crate, but she has quieted quickly and settles down for a nap. She is doing pretty well with the housebreaking - we had a few accidents until I caught on to her timing after meals and playing, but she is generally doing really well. She is already sitting on command!, almost always responds right away to "here" and is starting to get "kennel" and "out." She is liking sleeping at my feet under my desk while I work or trying to fit in Lucy's bed with her. She is such a sweetie and I really feel like she is a perfect fit into our little "family" here. Thank you so much for helping coordinating my getting her here in Indy - I so appreciate it. I will send some pictures when I can get them uploaded. Thanks for all the work you do with all the animals at C.A.R.E., Teresa

Truman
Truman

Truman is really working out well. He is getting on with the two other dogs and with the cats. He is just a great little guy. He loves to go out and walk around the property, especially when I have time to take the dogs on the "long walk" all round the perimeter of the property. He shares a crate while I'm at work with Candy, my dear old mini-dachshund and although he wasn't that keen on it at first, he now goes into it quite willingly. the only thing I have to do is to watch him to make sure he doesn't sneak the cats' food--he's very good at squeezing through the so-called gate that keeps the other dogs in the sun room! I thought you might nejoy the attached picture of Truman and Candy sunning themselves. Thanks and best wishes, Rod Stark

Tiki
Tiki

Hello Everyone, We adopted Tikki, now named Tom, for our daughter Georgia on May 13th. WE are absolutely in love with this fine young fellow. We've never heard our daughter laugh so loud and so much! Georgia is already talking about the days when he'll join her at college, she's five! Thank you so much Linda for contacting us so quickly and for raising him to be the wonderful kitten that he is. Here are two photos for you to enjoy. Tom on his first day at home and a couple of days ago. Cheers! Susie
