Description:
Patches is an amazing and beautilful little dog who's main goal is to love and snuggle alternated with streaking aroung the yard barking at the birds and squirrels. She has a lovely temperament, is sweet, energetic and FAST! She's like Maverick....she has the need for speed. Patches is house trained, crate trained and we are working on leash training. Her first and only other owner was a disabled elderly man.....probably not the best fit. So I don't think she got a lot of leash training. She doesn't do well with a collar so a harness would be best. A fenced yard is an absolute requirement for Patches, preferrably a big one. I never leave her unattended outside because of her agility and she gets scared if left alone too long. She loves playing with her foster brother, a dachshund mix, and tugging and shredding floppy squeaky toys. They will play-fight together for 30 minutes and then collapse on the couch and snooze. She is a good eater, but will snatch food/treats away from other dogs so if she is not the only dog in the house will need to be separated or monitered during feedings. She is still a puppy so is still working on learning good doggy manners. She would probably do fine with older children to help her work off her energy. To my knowledge she has never been around little children or cats, but I'd be nervous about cats. Patches is UTD on her shots, spayed, microchipped and ready to go. She rides well in the car and sleeps quietly through the night. If you think you would be the perfect loving forever home for little Patches, please fill out an application at care.resquegroups.org.
