Description:
Lady is new to CARE and working on socializing, playing and training. Our best guess is that she is an Great Pyr/Border Collie mix and will be large sized when full grown. She is currently around 16 pounds and her estimated date of birth is 9/1/2020. As with any puppy, she will need an active and patient home dedicated to positive reinforcement training. Lady is very, very timid right now as she takes in her new surroundings in her foster home. She wags her tail regularly and shows no sign of any kind of aggression, but is currently trying to take a lot of "newness" in for a puppy who has only formerly known her own mom and being on the streets. She wags her sweet tail when being pet, but finds comfort in having her own space to feel safe, observe and begin to understand what goes on in a home. She lights up when other dogs are nearby. We are confident Lady will break through this initial scaredness - she just needs a patient and loving home to help continue her on that path. CARE's adoption fee is $250 for dogs/puppies and $100 for cats/kittens and an additional $150 spay/neuter deposit will be required for any animals adopted prior to their spay/neuter surgery (and the deposit will be refunded when the approved adopter brings the animal to his/her CARE vet appointment in COLUMBUS, INDIANA once scheduled). All CARE animals arrive in their forever homes current on age appropriate vaccinations and preventatives, as well as microchipped and spay/neutered (or scheduled for the same). If you are interested in adopting or meeting a CARE animal, the FIRST STEP is to complete and submit an online adoption application through care.rescuegroups.org.
CARE is an all-volunteer and foster-based rescue organization. We do not have a shelter facility and do not have any employees monitoring inbound applications and emails. Applications are reviewed by each animal’s volunteer foster home. It may be several days before you hear from this animal’s foster home. Thank you for your patience and understanding as our foster volunteers work to navigate a very high volume of inbound adoption applications.
