What is C.A.R.E.?

C.A.R.E. is a non-profit animal rescue located in Columbus, IN and serves all of Bartholomew County in both fostering and adopting out animals as well as supporting spay and neutering for local animals.

Where are you located?

C.A.R.E. does not have a physical location. We are a foster home based organization with all of our adoptable animals located in volunteer homes. 

What kind of animals do you rescue?

We  primarly rescue dogs and cats but have had one or two ferrets come through our program as well.

How do I become foster?

To become a foster please visit our "Foster Homes" page. We ask each potential new foster to fill out an application. Our foster home coordinator will then contact you to set up a home visit and approve your as a foster home for our program. 

Can I visit the animals available for adoption?

Yes you can! We host monthly adoption events at Speck's Pet Supplies and Petco located in Columbus, IN. Please follow us on Facebook to stay up to date on our next adoption event. 

What is the adoption fee and what does it cover?

Our adoption fees are $100 for cats/kittens and $250 for dogs/puppies. This adoption fee covers any upfront medical, shots, and spay/neuter surgery if needed. 

Will my animal be spayed/neutered?

Yes! We encourage all pet owners to spay and neuter their pets. We will make sure that your new family member is spay and neutered before going to their forever home.
