Below are some examples of what volunteer needs we have:

High School Senior Project Ideas: Click Here!

EVENT ASSISTANCE:
Adoption Events - clean up messes, walk dogs, maintain water bowls, help potential owners meet the dog or cat.  Events occur one Saturday a month @ Specks Pet Supplies.

SPAYghetti Dinner: This annual fundraiser works hard to promote spaying and neutering of animals. The day of the event we will need servers, dishwasher, bread slicers, salad makers and much more!

Doggie Olympics: This annual event brings dog owners and their furry friends out to enjoy games and competitions. The day do the event we will need help with set up and tear down, timers, score keepers, activity hosts and much more!

VET TRANSPORT TO COLUMBUS ANIMAL HOSPITAL:

CARE has many animals that will need to get to the vet from time to time. We need volunteers who could either drop-off or pick-up our foster animals after vet appointments.  Drop-off is in the morning between 8-9 AM, Pick-up is in the afternoon 3 - 5PM.

SPECKS PET SUPPLIES CAT CLEANERS:
We have CARE foster cats & kittens located in the Kitty Adoption Area at Specks Pet Supplies.  We need volunteers to go in once a day to clean out their litterboxes and give some TLC.  We do one shift per day.

MICROCHIPPING TECH:
At Adoption Events once a month we also host Microchip Clinics. We are seeking back-ups in case our current microchippers are unable to attend.  No experience necessary, we can easily train - but, best to not be intimidated by needles! :)

MEDICAL ASSISTANT:
Our Medical Coordinator is a busy lady and could use help in giving shots to our foster animals, doing tests and maintaining health records.  Being able to draw blood is an added bonus, but we could also easily train.

GRANT WRITERS:
We are always seeking individuals interesting in the less glamarous side of CARE - grant writing.  It's an acquired skill, but if you have good reasoning and can write a paper, you would be perfect.  Grants fund our education programs, our spay/neuter assistance funds and special projects.  No experience required.

DOG & CAT GROOMERS:
Unfortunately some of the dogs & cats we get are not in the best shape. It would be great to have volunteers with some grooming experience who could assist us with these special cases.

HELP WITH FUNDRAISERS:
Looking for people interested in helping plan and execute fundraisers around Columbus - could do one fundraiser or be on Fundraising Committee year-round.

HELP EDUCATE:
Looking for people interested in speaking or planning events to speak to local classrooms or civic groups to promote our mission for responsible pet ownership education.

GROUP OR SENIOR PROJECTS:
CARE is open to working with any group or senior projects.

Some projects could include but are not limited to:

Planning a fundraiser event

Helping CARE to explore how to spread our help to the public

Planning/beginning Nursing Home Visitation Program

Planning/beginning Education at Local Schools Program

Help CARE to figure out solutions to our local feral cat problems

And Many, Many More!
