CAT and DOG FOSTER HOMES NEEDED

CARE does not have a shelter - all of our animals are in our awesome volunteer foster homes! CARE is always in great need of more foster homes for both cats and dogs!

Our animals come from partner shelters (to help reduce overpopulation in shelter facilities), owners who have lost their homes or must give up their animals for personal or health reasons, and strays.  We put them into a foster home and CARE pays for all medical expenses so they are healthy and ready to be adopted.

Foster homes get to know the animals, work on socialization, housetraining and basic obedience.  CARE provides our foster homes with everything they need: crates, food, monthly preventatives, medical care and supplies! This puts our fosters in the best position to review inbound applications and help to determine the best fitting home for the animal. Fostering saves lives - we hope you'll help us to save more!

Please take a look at our INFORMATION ON FOSTERING if you are interested in joining with CARE to help not only the animals, but the people who need us.  Feel free to email CARE for more information or with any questions at ColumbusCARE@gmail.com.

The length of stay for the animals vary- if you are going on vacation we provide a temporary foster home or will pay to have the animal boarded in a kennel. Small dogs tend to get adopted quickly, as do many pure breeds, but there are times when adoptions are slow.

Also Needed - CAT LOVERS!

CARE is also in need of back-up / fill-in cat cleaners for our cats at the Columbus Speck's Pet Supplies store.
Speck's is our main outlet for cat adoptions, so keeping things clean and the kitties happy is a huge help for us!

One volunteer a day goes in to clean and play with the cats - it takes anywhere from 20- 30 minutes (depending on number and age of the cats).

Please fill out an online VOLUNTEER APPLICATION if you are interested in helping with the cats at Speck's.
